Fall 2012

Sorry it's been a while. Crazy time of year:) So what's been going on recently. Kennedy was NEMO for Halloween and had a ball. She loved picking out pumpkins, coloring them, but not cleaning them. When daddy opened up the pumpkin,Kennedy said eeewwwhhh. Football season is over for Wesleyan:( They made it to the first round of the playoffs. Kennedy is still in gymnastics and doing well. Mommy is starting to run around crazy preparing for the Holiday's. Is it bad that it is not even December and we have the tree up with many presents wrapped underneath? I like to enjoy December and not feel rushed to get it all done.So I start early. Elf on the shelf came to our house the day after Thanksgiving. Kennedy is getting a kick out it... coming downstairs every morning looking for it. Every night she says bye Elfie, go back to the Northpole and tell Santa I was good today. So cute! At night we ride around the neighborhood looking at Xmas lights. We let Kennedy ride up front in our laps, she thinks it is so cool. Christmas is so fun...espesically seeing it through her eyes!

Kennedy's first Dentist Appt

Kennedy showing how big she can open her mouth
Kennedy had her first dentist appt and she did great. The doctor said her teeth are coming in well and he can only tell slighty from where she had the paci. They were only suppose to look at her teeth, but since she did so good they were able to clean them as well!

It's Working....Thanking God for my GITS!

Ok.So I just have to share the sweetest story real quick.Every night we have a routine before bed. Tubbie (which we have the best tea parties, kennedy is the best hostess) Books, Prayers and Bed time. So after we finish our books which Kennedy usually always trys to add 2-3 more books at the end.We say our prayers. We do the whole Now I lay me, down to sleep and Kennedy repeats after Mommy. Then Mommy goes on to Thank God for all the blessings, gifts and prayers needed in our life. So the other night, we finished  the Now I lay me part and then Kennedy started naming, babies, blankies, mommy & daddy, cousin Ryder & Hopie. I looked at her and said sweetie, what are you doing? She looked up at me and said Thanking God for my gits.(she tried to say gifts)  OMG! It brought tears to me eyes. I immedialty yelled for Lee and completley ruined Kennedy's prayer. I was so proud and emotional at once. You go through daily routines- brush your teeth, no popsicle until you finish your vegetables, please share. And you wonder if it is making an impression. "Thanking god for my gits"...Well it is!

St. Simon's 2012

Last week we visited over favorite vacation spot for the week of the 4th. We joined our friends the Moody's again. Granny & Poppy came down on Tuesday and were able to spend 3 days with us at the beach as well. They are so sweet and good to Kennedy. She loves her granny and poppy. We had such a blast, I can't believe it's already over. We spent the first couple days beaching and pooling it up. Kennedy has growned so much since last year. She loves, loves the water. (pool & beach) She loves playing in the sand and splashing the waves. (what little ones they have) We did our usual seafood dinners, ice cream and yummie treats all week. We rode bikes, took KK to the playground by the prier and enjoyed St. Simons water park. Mommy of coursed shopped in all the boutique stores and for sure hit the bailey boy's store.

Like I said early Kennedy has grown so much since last year's vacation. She was such a good girl all week. She shared with Moody girls, slept great, and really enjoyed the time we spent together as a family. It breaks my heart because she is growing up so fast. She make us so happy and proud everyday. And she is so smart too! (I know every mommy says that) But she sings the best twinkle twinkle little star and all other nursery rymes. Knows the ABC song and can count to 15. (Watch out Harvard:) Kennedy has really gotten good with the temper tantrums. She continues to amaze me with her listening and communication. I know the 3's can be a whole different story. She still has a little attitude every once in a while. (But she wouldn't be mommy's girl if she didn't)

I have to give a shout out to Daddy as well. He is the most amazing, loving, caring daddy I have ever met. He is so involved in her every momment and adores her. I knew he was going to be a good daddy when I married him, but never imagined he would be as sweet and sensitive as he is. She has him wrapped around her finger. Well, that's where we are right now. Next post will be super exciting, we are waiting the arrival of 2 new cousins. Connor Norman is due on 8.31 and Aubrey Johnson is due on 7.29:) New babies Yeah!

Spring Time Fun

We have alot going on around the house right now. Kennedy continues to be the big helper. As she say's be girl. (meaning big girl). We have been busy planting flowers & playing outside every night. We took Kennedy to the zoo last week. I think she enjoyed it. But I really think she thinks the animals on her cartoons are just as real as the animals at the zoo :) Don't think she is quit there yet. But we had fun. We are having some sleeping issues in our house. Around KK's 2nd birthday Kennedy decided she didn't want to sleep in her bed anymore. Starting waking up at night. She has always been a great sleeper. Then all of a sudden, can't lay her down at night awake. We have to sit in the rocking chair until she fall's asleep. (usually 20-30 minutes) I know things could be worse. But we really don't know what do to. We did say bye bye paci and she got a special treat that the mailman brought her. She never really asked for it again. She doesn't have it at school. But this was before we took the paci. I spoke to the Dr when we went for her check up and she suggested the cry it out  method. I just can't do that. We tried one night and after about 45 mins. I went up stairs. KK said mommie set with me. It broke my heart. I can't handle it when she cry's. (you know before I had kids I though I would be this discplined mommie, always on routine and I am such a mushie mommie) Anway's that's where we are at with sleeping or lack there of. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.Kennedy will be starting swim lessons soon. I will have to post pics. I have added some pics of spring time fun, Kennedy planting flowers with daddy. Riding in her jeep and the zoo. Love to all...

Easter Bunny Hop! Hop! Hop!

Easter was fun in the Rider House. We dyed Easter Eggs on Thursday. Kennedy was actually good.(didn't break any) The hardest part was waiting on the eggs to cool after we boiled them. Kennedy loves to hop like a bunny. She says hop, hop, hop. We attended 3 Easter Egg Hunts. By Sunday she was a champ at catching those easter eggs. We started with the first at school on Friday. Mommy and daddy came to share in the fun. Kennedy and her partner's in crime Anna Lane and Braden were so excited about the Easter eggs on the playground. They kept peaking out the window wanting to go out. They were so much fun to watch. On Saturday we headed up to Granny and Poppy's and got lots of egg's. These eggs were special because they had money in them. (which Kennedy loves putting change in her piggy bank) Kennedy and Rider had egg's overflowing out of there basket. Sunday the easter bunny came, we went to church, then headed over of Shannon's for the Day Easter egg hunt. We got a cute pic of all the granddauther's on Mom's side of the family. We had Ham and all the yummie's for Easter Sunday. Kennedy still has easter candy left. Usually after dinner she asks, can I have a treat and mommy let's her pick one peice out of her easter bag.

KENNEDY Turns 2!!!

Hey Everyone. We had a very exciting weekend. Kennedy turned 2. I can't believe it. She is growing so fast. We started Friday with her birthday party at school. Mommy and Daddy brought cupcakes for her to share with all her friends. Kennedy loves to sing the birthday song. But does not like everyone singing to her. So we attempted to sing then all enjoyed yummie cup cakes. Then on Sunday we celebrated with all our friends at Catch Air. This the best place with all sorts of bouncy things and slides. All week long we would say we are going to the bouncy place on Sunday for your birthday and all your friends are going to be there. Then she would start naming off all her friends and cousins. We had a great time and everyone was so good to her. She got a Barbie Jammin Jeep from Mommy and Daddy. Which she has enjoyed riding in all week. She had a great day. I can't believe it has come and gone. Where did my baby go? She had her 2 year check up on Monday and the doctor says she looks great. Still measuring on in the 25% for height. Which amazes me, since I am 5'8 and Lee is 6'2. Maybe she will hit a growth spurt. She showed Dr. Douglas how she can sign really well and said please and thank you. She did get a shot though. Which she calls a boo, boo and Mommy has been rumbing all week. Here are some pics of the weekend!
